Successful HR Business Partnering – an intensive 2 day event for HR professionals
15 and 16 October 2009, Central London
Only £900 (+VAT) per delegate
Many organisations have adopted the title of ‘HR Business Partner’ without a fundamental reappraisal of the role, its requirements and its outputs.
This fundamental programme will debate, discuss and develop:
- The interaction of the Business Partner role with ‘the business’
- The linkage to Centres of Expertise and Shared Services
- The challenges between immediacy and the short term versus a more strategic perspective
- The skills and knowledge required to upskill into this pivotal role
This programme will:
- Use and apply the latest research from the Corporate Research Forum ensuring in-depth, relevant and up-to-date thinking on the HR Business Partnering role
- Be highly participative and skills based with opportunities to practice skills in a small group environment
- Contain pre-work on organisation business diagnosis prior to programme
- Provide a follow-up meeting six months after the programme
Attendance is suitable for:
Those with experience of most operational aspects of human resource management including an understanding of Resourcing, Employee Relations, Development, Performance and Reward. It would also be beneficial for those with a specialist background who wish to broaden their role.
What are the learning outcomes?
- I will be able to demonstrate how the HR actions as a business partner are relevant to my business in terms of linking HR actions to business outcomes
- I will be able to articulate clearly and succinctly how my business functions and how it creates value
- I will understand and will have practiced writing a people plan
- I will understand how the theory of consulting skills - including contracting with a line manager - is applied to my role
- I will take stock of my own competencies against what the research tells about those that are needed together with some initial thinking about bridging gaps
- I will understand just how change is successfully implemented and how it applies to my context
- I will have practiced and reviewed my impact and influencing behaviours
- I will have completed a personal development plan highlighting gaps and actions to reduce the gaps
